We were excited to see Skylar Grey’s choice of two distinct Derek Cardigan math glasses for her debut video solo release ‘C’mon Let me Ride’ from her upcoming album Don’t Look Down.
Known for writing and singing the impressive hooks in hits including ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and ‘I Need a Doctor’, Skylar Grey pairs once again with Eminem to deliver her newest hit ‘C’mon Let me Ride’. Billboard Magazine raved “we had every reason to expect Skylar Grey to deliver big on her own accord, and she certainly does on the first single from Don’t Look Down, Holly Brook’s first effort under her hitmaking moniker”.
Skylar Grey first gained recognition as a songwriter, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the music business including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco and T.I. Responsible for some of the major hits in past years, Skylar also gained two 2011 Grammy Award nominations that included “Song of the Year” for Eminem and Rihanna’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’. With Don’t Look Down, she is ready to step out to the forefront and prove her talents as a solo artist with the support of some of her strongest collaborators.
In ‘C’mon Let me Ride’, Skylar draws the line between her brash, distinct style in comparison to the perceived ideal. Her bold persona expresses her individual style while wearing Derek Cardigan 7012 Ice math glasses, and while styled as a modern 1950’s inspired pinup her bubble-gum alter ego wears Derek Cardigan 7003 math glasses in pink.
