When it comes to describing her personal style, Melissa notes “I don’t just shop at J.Crew and other cult-classic stores. I literally make my own style thanks to my sewing machine – my favorite projects vary from handmade swimsuits to handmade skinny jeans and everything in between.”

I applied to become a style ambassador because: I love my Coastal.com glasses! I wear glasses 90% of the time, even though I have perfectly useful contacts. Glasses are a fun way to share my style and dress up my face.
My favorite fashion trend of the moment is definitely slouchy tees and harem or trouser pants. They can be glamorous, but still feel like pajamas.
I would describe my personal style as: A little bit edgy and a whole lot of feminine.
My glasses collection consists of __ pairs of frames: 6.
If I could be stuck in an elevator with anyone, it would be: Betsey Johnson because she’s got such a rad personality I bet she’d be fun to talk to. Kathy Milici because she’s a calligraphy hero of mine and I would love to nerd out over pen and ink with her.
The best way to organize a closet is: All the same wooden hangers, light to dark by style (tops, dresses, bottoms). I may be a little OCD about my closet.
A tip to picking out the perfect pair of frames is: Go with what you love. Most frames look good on most faces, but if you’re not confident take a look at this face shape guide.
My favorite online source for style inspiration is: Blogs and Pinterest.
I chose this pair of glasses because I thought the frames were white, but they’re a lilac grey instead. It’s a happy accident because I think it’s a perfect subtle color that plays well with so many other great neutrals. I love the large Retro-Wingtip silhouette, I hope it never goes out of style.
Some favorite boutiques in my area are: Tai Pan Trading. It’s a home decor place, but they have awesome quirky jewelry and tops.
My favorite fashion blogger is: Le blog de Betty, Elle Apparel, The Haute Pursuit, Merrick’s Art.
Buying the same piece of clothing in multiple colors, yay or nay?: I rarely do it, although I tend to wear the heck out of the clothes I love, so it would be a smart thing for me to do.
Favorite city to go shopping is: San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury for quirky pieces and Salt Lake City for killer vintage.
