As someone who preferred suits and bow ties over t-shirts and jogging pants when growing up, it’s no surprise that Adam continues to differentiate himself from the crowd when it comes to personal style.
“I work in a traditional industry so as I’ve grown I’ve adopted a philosophy to stick with classic pieces but add a bit of contemporary flair to it in order to differentiate yourself from the pack! That’s why I love my Derek Cardigan glasses. They are the statement piece for me when I wear my suits and casual clothes. It goes to show you don’t need to spend a ton of money in order to be stylish. And I often get complimented on them and now I’m almost noticed for them.”
Name & Nickname: Adam | AG
Home base: Vancouver, Canada
My glasses collection consists of ___ pairs of frames: 7
I applied to become a style ambassador because: Why not! I’m always willing to share where I find the fashion that I wear, especially with my frames. Why not do it on a bigger scale!
A tip on picking out the perfect pair of frames is: Have someone you trust and knows your style help you. Sometimes I have a hard time making a decision between a pair so to have someone else who understands the look you’re going for and is a fresh set of eyes can help.
I chose this pair of glasses because of their versatility. They can add style to an outfit for a night on the town but they wouldn’t be too much to have on if I bumped into my most conservative client during that same night out.
Buying the same piece of clothing in multiple colors, yay or nay? Yay. Absolutely! Color is a big differentiating quality in clothing. Something in red can give off a completely different look/statement than something in tan.
My favorite fashion trend of the moment is: To be honest I don’t subscribe to trends, I subscribe to the classics. If you look at Paul Newman, Dean Martin, JFK, those guys could wear the same things they wore then today and wouldn’t look out of place. But if I had to pick one it would be cuffed trousers. With the right pant it can add a certain snap to your outfit.
The best way to organize a closet is: I don’t know if I’m the best at organizing a closet but I just moved into a new condo and it has a closet organizer which has made a huge difference. Always have your top two pairs of shoes ready to go in the closet. Make sure your belts and accessories are accessible. Suits off to the left and shirts hung on top of your pants to see the look.
I would describe my personal style as: Classic with a pop. The pop could be color, pattern, fabric or glasses.
My favorite online source for style inspiration is Nickleson Wooster’s blog nickwooster.com or fashionbeans.com which is a well articulated, well laid out guide to mens fashion.
If I could be stuck in an elevator with anyone, it would be: Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks. An amazing business mind, he’s very willing to share what’s made him successful.
A social media platform or app that I can’t get enough of is: Instagram for style and Twitter for news and information. I hate to say it but I think I check both at least once an hour.
My current style muse is: Nickleson Wooster. He’s the former Men’s Fashion Director of Neimen Marcus Group Services. He’s a grade A bad ass in fashion. He has sick style.
Favorite city to go shopping is: New York. I’ve been a few times and it seriously can’t be beat for men’s fashion.
