Do kids need blue light glasses?

Our eyesight changes over the years. Before the age of 10, children's eye lenses do not fully play their role as filters and allow more blue-violet light to pass through, and even 1-2% of UVA light. Children's antioxidant defences are also less important, as their eyes are not yet mature. It should be noted that our lenses that filter blue-violet light are transparent (they only partially, but significantly, filter blue-violet light) with a neutral tint and selectively filter the light: they let through the part of the light that is essential for children's visual and non-visual development.

Should kids wear blue light glasses?

Blue light is emitted all around us, every day — both outdoors, with the sun as the biggest source, and indoors from the screens on our digital devices. Extended exposure to certain wavelengths may cause visual discomfort.
