Alexander McQueen Sunglasses: Modern Gothic

Alexander McQueen’s timeless designs infused elaborate design, Gothic inspiration and a delicate humanism. Thomas P. Campbell, Director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, notes “there are few whose careers fit as easily within the language and methodologies of art history as that of Alexander McQueen”.

Often weaving darker themes throughout his designs, Alexander McQueen sunglasses feature design elements to add intrique, such as his signature skull detailing.

Alexander McQueen

Four times named the British Designer of the Year, Alexander McQueen began his career on Savile Row with clients that included Prince Charles. His professional breakthrough was assisted through the sharp eye of Isabella Blow who famously purchased his entire graduating collection from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. His eponymous line only grew in popularity through his awe-inspiring runway shows and devoted fan base that included Kate Moss (who was once featured as a hologram in his show), Naomi Campbell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Salma Hayek and Daphne Guinness.

Since his passing in 2010, the Alexander McQueen and McQ lines have continued under the watchful creative direction of Sarah Burton, McQueen’s close friend and colleague, who has pushed forward the line from strength to strength.
