Oscars Glasses: How We’d Style the Academy Awards

As we eagerly await the 85th Academy Awards, we’ve imagined how we’d style some of our favorite Oscar nominees this year, with great glasses to match.

With back-to-back Oscar Nominations, and non-stop movie releases, Jessica Chastain is quickly becoming a red carpet icon.  Marchesa’s Fall 2013 deep red gown with gold embroidered bodice is a regal and romantic choice that would complement Jessic Chastain’s flame red hair and fair complexion.  A large cocktail ring and gold lace cuff provides the final polish. Carmen Marc Valvo Maki Gold Topaz glasses reflect the richness of the gown and metallic highlights.

Already an Oscar winner for Inglourious Basterds, Christoph Waltz is nominated again for his role as Col. Hans Landa in Django Unchained. Known for his serious and often violent roles, Christoph Waltz recently hosted Saturday Night Live to show his lighter side. We see the actor in a classic suit similar to this Brioni tuxedo, a brand with previous devotees including Cary Grant and Clark Gable. Paired with Berluti lace-ups, and Carrera 6206 D28 Shiny Black glasses and a watch by the same brand, Christoph will be ready to accept the Oscar if his name is called.

This year’s newest, and youngest, breakout star is Quvenzhané Wallis is known for her stunning talkent and sharp wit and we love her youthful style. We’d suggest this mint dress paired with ballet flats, a simple pearl necklace and a sparkling purse to Quvenzhané Wallis’ perfect track record on the red carpet. Zooventure 8007 Silver Sparkle glasses are a great match for this Beasts of the Southern Wild star’s style.

Bradley Cooper’s Oscar nomination for Best Actor follows a steady ascent to the silver screen since his days as Jennifer Garner’s loyal friend on Alias. Now a household name in his own right, Bradley Cooper’s glasses style matches his wardrobe with classic pieces and impeccable tailoring. We’ve seen Bradley Cooper wearing Tom Ford in the past and love them paired with these Louise Vuitton shoes and vintage inspired Joseph Marc 4031 Grey glasses with keyhole detailing.

Since lopping off her hair for her role as the tragic Fantine in Les Misérables, Anne Hathaway has been taking greater fashion risks. Noting the recent stunning styles at Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week, we imagine Anne Hathaway in Look 48, a shimmering sequined gown with a model that seemed to have styled her hair after Anne’s.  An elegant clutch and vintage ring would complete the look. If Anne Hathaway does nab the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress she may need a pair of Love L747 Black glasses to read her acceptance speech.
