Coastal programs may be licensed for streaming across a network from a specific server to networked PCs and laptops. Each computer accessing the file for viewing is granted a license and therefore there are two important requirements:
- All files are encoded as Windows Media Player 9 files and require the Windows Media 9 Player for playback.
- Any PC intending to view the file must be able to reach the Internet to activate the initial viewing.
File Specifications:
Coastal suggests the follow file specification for use as a streaming file. Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure the file specifications you order are consistent with your system capacity. We recommend a 300k file for streaming on your Intranet and a 1MB for directly playing from a PC. We suggest you download and test the sample provided to ensure proper performance on your network.
Windows Media Player 9;
300K encoding rate;

Access to the Internet:
Any PC or laptop wishing to view the file must be able to access the Internet, but only during the first playback. Access to the Internet is required in order to provide the specific usage terms you purchase for each product.
Once a file has been installed or accessed the first time, the appropriate license rights are delivered to that PC or laptop. You can then view the program as many times or for as long as was purchased without needing Internet access.
Pricing & Licensing of installed files:
At this time, all Coastal video-based products can be purchased as digital files, according to the specifications above.
