These glasses looked great on the website, but what isn't clear is that the plating on the side is a reflective gold that doesn't match the brown/brass look of the rest of the glasses.
First, they won't match if you have any silver jewelry, such as a watch.
Second, they're flashy, but not in a good way. The reflective "gold" plating looks very cheap. It's probably steel with gold paint/tinting.
I was looking for plain looking brown frames that would match when I wear brown shoes and a brown belt. What I got is something that looks like a cheap knockoff of a flashy designer frame.
Fortunately, you can remove the platings, which leaves a two visible holes, but it does look better than with the platings. Still going to consider whether or not to return them. They're okay for a backup in a nonprofessional setting.

These are okay. They fit pretty good, are lightweight and are pretty much what I was expecting. However, they are definitely more of a copper color than the dark brown I was expecting.
Another thing to be aware of, if you have a strong prescription, you really should opt for the highest grade lens, I opted for the $30 option and got coke bottles for lenses. I suppose thats what you lose when you buy glasses online instead of from a doctor. I felt that there should have been a hint or something letting me know, I probably won't wear these out of the house - things are a little 'warpy' when I wear them.

I've worn silhouette for the last eight years and they've spoiled me on eyewear. I'm used to high quality, lightweight, frames and lenses. The frames on these aren't great (they feel like medium to cheap plastic) and as another reviewer mentioned the gold on the sides are a REALLY shiny gold and don't really fit in with the front of the frames. They can be removed, but it looks like something is missing. These are a backup pair for me, so it's not an issue.
The four stars are because the lenses are fantastic. My optometrist charges me almost triple for the anti- reflective coating (for night driving) and scratch resistant coating on the lenses of my other glasses. I also really liked the packaging that Coastal sent my glasses in and they totally hooked me up with a little screwdriver and cleaner kit (first time ordering).

As a mother of 3 children, I try to save money by buying quality items at a low cost. My son is 8 years old and we were able to save money by ordering his glasses on Coastal.com. The glasses came in about a week and he was very happy with it. It fit him comfortably and the prescription was correctly done. About 8 months ago, I had bought a very expensive pair ($150.) from an optical store but that pair did not last because he broke them. I hope this pair lasts him the entire year.

I love how Coastal has some very stylish but affordable glasses! This being one of them! :)I picked this as one of the choices for the back-to-school-sale of 2 for [$] and I'm loving it!The only con is that I had to bring both pairs to the local eyeglass shop (not mentioning names) to have them adjusted. No biggie since I still saved a lot of money! My first pair (the free pair) was topnotch! I didn't have to bring that one to have it adjusted.
